The Universitat Jaume I (UJI) has announced the opening of the pre-registration period for the next academic year of its University for Seniors, offering 120 places for new students.

The pre-registration period begins on Monday, May 11, and will run until June 12. The only requirement to access these studies is to be 55 years old or older. This initiative allows older adults in the province to continue their academic education.
Interested individuals can pre-register in several ways: through the website http://preinscripcio.uji.es, by submitting an application at the UJI General Registry (located in InfoCampus, premises 14 and 15 of the Ágora), or directly at the University for Seniors Secretariat (premise 3 of the Ágora). It is important to note that this pre-registration is exclusively for new enrollees and does not constitute official enrollment, but it is an essential step for formalizing it later.
In early July, the UJI will publish the list of admitted individuals and will provide information on the date and time for formalizing enrollment. All this information will be available on the official website of the University for Seniors: https://mayores.uji.es.
The Universitat Jaume I has offered studies for seniors almost since its inception, as its own degrees within its permanent education catalog. Since 1998, it has provided the opportunity to obtain the degree of Senior University Graduate in Human and Social Sciences and, subsequently, to pursue any of the senior postgraduate programs available on the Castellón campus. The program includes core and compulsory subjects, as well as courses in technological and linguistic skills, dynamic activities, workshops, and a wide variety of extracurricular activities that enrich students' education and foster numerous additional competencies.
In addition to studies on the Riu Sec campus, the University for Seniors also offers Human and Social Sciences courses in six municipalities across the province. This extension aims to bring the opportunity to expand knowledge, experiences, and establish ties with the Universitat Jaume I to people residing in areas further away from the city of Castellón.
Individuals interested in courses at the municipal branches can pre-register during the same period, both online and at the designated locations in each town. Among the branches are: Morella (Municipal Library) and Vilafranca (Social House) in the Els Ports Branch; Segorbe (Glorieta Building) in the Interior Branch; Sant Mateu (Town Hall) and Vinaròs (Municipal Library) in the North Branch; and Puerto de Sagunto (Casal Jove) in the Camp de Morvedre Branch.
