Castellón Provincial Council Restores Splendor to Palau del Cardenal Ram in Morella

An investment exceeding 74,000 euros has allowed for the restoration of the facade and improvement of facilities in this historic building.

The Castellón Provincial Council has completed the rehabilitation of the Palau del Cardenal Ram in Morella, an initiative costing over 74,000 euros aimed at enhancing its historical value and tourist appeal.

This intervention has restored the magnificence of the building, a prominent example of Morella's noble architecture, constructed between the 15th and 16th centuries. The works focused on facade restoration and access improvements, with the goal of solidifying its status as a key tourist attraction in the capital of Els Ports.

The works included the restoration of the entrance arch and the main wooden door, as well as improvements to the interior staircase arch and the rehabilitation of pavements. The access to the hotel area, which features 16 rooms and a restaurant, has also been reformed to enhance its visibility and attractiveness for visitors.
Furthermore, electrical, lighting, telecommunications, and fire protection systems have been modernized. A new reception desk has been installed, and necessary lighting fixtures have been placed to optimize the quality of the interior space, ensuring tourists can fully enjoy its wonders.

The Palau del Cardenal Ram, owned by the Castellón Provincial Council, was the residence of the Ram family, an important merchant lineage from Alcanyís established in Morella since the 14th century. This intervention not only preserves the historical legacy but also contributes to the reactivation of the tourism sector and the economic and cultural development of the region.
