The Petrer City Council has concluded improvement works in the Salinetas Industrial Park, which include a new rest area on Avenida de la Libertad and a comprehensive intervention with an IVACE subsidy of nearly 300,000 euros.

The Department of Economic Development of the Petrer City Council has completed the latest improvement project in the Salinetas Industrial Park. This initiative, supported by a subsidy from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), was carried out between late 2025 and early 2026.
A key intervention focused on the area around the electrical transformer, located between Avenida de la Libertad and Calle Puig Campana. According to the Councillor for Economic Development, David Morcillo, this action addresses a request from the park's business owners, who sought to improve this space over a year ago.

"The business owners' request primarily aimed to create a roundabout to improve visibility and streamline traffic on Avenida de la Libertad itself and adjacent streets. However, from the City Council, we proposed to expand that roundabout concept and, as we have been doing in recent years, approach the project from the perspective of seeing the industrial park as a place where people spend a lot of time and try to make the park a more beautiful, pleasant, and welcoming area."

In this location, in addition to improving the roundabout, a new rest area with tables and benches has been incorporated, along with a trompe l'oeil simulating a wooded area. This space is designed for workers from nearby companies to use for lunch, breaks, or disconnecting. This new area joins two others previously created in earlier projects, one on Calle Arenal and another with a calisthenics zone.
The councillor emphasized the importance of these spaces, stating that “the worker is what makes industrial parks function, and that is why it is necessary for them to have these spaces, these lungs, these oases to stop and disconnect and then continue their work activity.”
This phase of improvement in the Salinetas Industrial Park involved an investment of nearly 300,000 euros from IVACE. The actions, agreed upon with the park's companies, focused on Calle Costa de la Luz, parallel to Avenida Cataluña, and the area around the electrical transformer.
On Calle Costa de la Luz, the works included the complete repaving of the road, the installation of new sidewalks, and the expansion of lighting with LED technology, aiming to improve accessibility, image, and safety. Additionally, new fire hydrants, connected to the municipal water network, have been installed to enhance safety in case of emergencies. These actions are part of the municipal strategy to boost industrial areas, with the support of IVACE, allocating resources to infrastructure modernization and improvements in mobility and energy efficiency.
