The National Police has dismantled a family clan in Elda, arresting ten individuals, including two minors, for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and for subjecting a man to a situation of slavery and degrading treatment.

The police operation began after agents detected the reactivation of a drug sales point in a neighborhood of the town. Investigations revealed that the group, composed of members of the same family, distributed marijuana, cocaine, and heroin from a residence that had significant security measures.
Concurrently, the National Police received a complaint from a man who resided in the investigated property. According to his testimony, the clan took him in and supplied him with drugs in exchange for his participation in substance sales. The situation escalated into physical assaults and the appropriation of his pension, until he managed to escape.
About thirty agents carried out the entry and search of the home, with judicial authorization, where various jewels and 2,970 euros in cash were seized. As a result of the operation, the ten members of the network —seven men and three women—, including two minors, were arrested.
The arrested individuals are accused of extortion, illegal detention, violent robbery, electricity fraud, belonging to a criminal group, property crime, drug trafficking, and degrading treatment. The adults have been placed at the disposal of the duty investigating courts of Elda, while the minors have been handed over to the Alicante Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
