The works, funded by European Next Generation funds and urgent aid for municipalities affected by the flood, focus on the cleaning and adaptation of a 5,900 square meter green area in the urbanisation's ravine. The main objective is to restore the temporary watercourse, severely damaged by the heavy rainfall, and create an arboretum to enhance its public and tourist use.
The initiative includes the removal of debris, sediments, and damaged vegetation, as well as the reinforcement of the ravine slopes to protect them from erosion. Additionally, native species with low fire risk will be planted, integrated into the arboretum, to improve soil cohesion and minimize future erosion.
To restore the area, prevent climatic risks, and attract visitors.
The project also involves the installation of a permeable drainage system and educational signs. These signs will describe the arboretum's species, inform about climatic risks in the area, and highlight the importance of the watercourse as an ecosystem, promoting responsible use by residents and tourists.
This action, which will be complemented by two more in other parts of the municipality, seeks to transform the ravine into a resilient and attractive arboretum, combining environmental restoration with a recreational, educational, and tourist space that enhances the landscape value of La Llomayna and its safety against climatic events. Other municipalities such as Bétera, Casinos, Benaguasil, Riba-roja de Túria, and Llíria are also coordinated by the Mancomunitat Camp de Túria to develop similar projects.
