Thousands of people gathered in Llíria this Monday to participate in the traditional rogativa of Sant Vicent, the “grand day” of the Vicentine festivities, as reported by the City Council of the Camp de Túria locality.

This popular event once again served as a meeting point for residents and visitors. Participants accompanied the image of the city's co-patron from the Basilica de la Asunción to the Sant Vicent hermitage to celebrate the festive day. The event was attended by Mayor Paco Gorrea, Festival Councilor Mª José Llopis, and other members of the Municipal Corporation, as well as the Clavaría and Mayoralía and representatives of the Brotherhood of Sant Vicent Ferrer.
Once at Sant Vicent Park, the residents of Llíria enjoyed a traditional lunch in this natural setting. Afterwards, a concelebrated mass with a sermon in Valencian was held at the hermitage.

He made the water from the dry spring flow again.

The multitudinous celebration commemorates the Miracle of Water from the year 1410, attributed to the Valencian saint, in which “he made the water from the dry spring flow again,” as explained by the consistory. For this reason, before returning to the urban area, a blessing of the waters was performed, in thanksgiving, next to the olive tree where Father Vicent Ferrer preached.
On the way back to the town, in the Pla de l'Arc neighborhood, the emotional encounter between the images of Llíria's two patrons, Sant Miquel and Sant Vicent, also took place. After the rogativa concluded, the festive day continued with a performance by the Tokyo Band orchestra in the Pla de l'Arc parking lot. The festivities in honor of Sant Vicent Ferrer 2026 will continue in Llíria until next Sunday with various religious and cultural events.
