The president of the Generalitat highlighted that this action represents a firm commitment by the Consell to guarantee quality public healthcare for all citizens of the Valencian Community. The hospital expansion will increase care capacity and improve service quality.
“"We want to continue improving the healthcare infrastructure of our territory day by day so that Valencians, Alicantinos, and Castellonenses have the care resources they deserve and we can continue advancing towards more humane and personalized healthcare."
This project is part of the Valencian Government's strategy to modernize and expand healthcare resources throughout the territory. This action joins other expansions in hospitals such as Clínico and General de València, as well as centers in Orihuela or Vega Baja, with the aim of increasing care capacity.
The future building, with an area of approximately 9,500 square meters, will be an independent construction, but connected to the current Sagunto Hospital, which will allow for functional integration of services. Access will be located next to the current hospital entrance, and the building will be organized into five floors.
These floors will house multiple medical specialties, including Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurology, and Dermatology, in addition to patient care units and home hospitalization. The design includes a central landscaped courtyard that will allow natural light to enter and visually connect all floors, placing waiting rooms around this space to improve the patient experience.
With this action, the Generalitat seeks to respond to the population growth in Sagunto in recent years and adapt the healthcare infrastructure to current demand, thus strengthening the public health system.
