Driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Puerto de Sagunto turns himself in in Madrid

The alleged perpetrator of the fatal accident that took place in the early hours of last Sunday in Puerto de Sagunto has voluntarily turned himself in to the authorities at a police station in Madrid.

The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Sunday, May 24th, on Illa Menorca street. According to initial reports, a vehicle struck a 35-year-old pedestrian and fled at high speed, causing the victim's death at the scene.
The Sagunto Local Police immediately launched an investigation. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the officers, the vehicle involved, a black Renault Megane, was located just three hours after the accident and taken to municipal facilities for technical inspection.
Following the location of the car, a search operation was activated to find the driver. Finally, this Monday morning, the owner of the car appeared at a police station in the Spanish capital, where he confessed to his involvement in the event.
Currently, the Sagunto Local Police and the National Police Corps continue to process the relevant proceedings. The case is under the supervision of the Instruction and First Instance Section number 2 of Sagunto, which is in charge of clarifying the exact circumstances of the accident.
