The unions CC OO and UGT have achieved an agreement with the Sagunto City Council to reorganize the shifts for municipal pool lifeguards. This pact, approved in a General Negotiation Board, aims to improve the working conditions of the staff and enhance the service during peak hours.
The new system establishes a rotation that guarantees all lifeguards will have, over time, equal opportunities to choose their shifts. According to the unions, this ends a model based solely on seniority, which had generated inequalities among workers.
CC OO and UGT highlight the Administration's positive disposition during negotiations, seeking a fairer and more balanced model. They also criticize the opinions of other union organizations that defended previous systems, which they claim favored privileged positions.
The agreement also includes the creation of a new lifeguard employment pool, which will expedite the coverage of absences and substitutions, thereby improving service organization and quality for users.
The unions state they will continue working through dialogue and consensus to improve working conditions and offer an efficient, quality public service to citizens.
