Domènec Garcia i Anglès, spokesperson for Junts per Faura, pointed out that the approval of budgets in March, with more than two months of the fiscal year already consumed, is a recurring anomaly. According to the spokesperson, the PSOE, with its absolute majority, approves accounts without consulting anyone, despite numerous attempts by Junts per Faura to collaborate on municipal issues.
“"Behind the kind words, there has always been a closed door that has prevented any real participation on our part in municipal activity."
One of the main reasons for their opposition is what they consider a
promoted by the local government. This project, with a non-transparent website inaccessible to municipal groups, invites residents to submit ideas without guarantees on their implementation. Junts per Faura insists that a participatory budget must truly be participatory, with public hearings, debate, and transparent monitoring, allocating a specific portion of the budget to these proposals.
The group has also expressed concern over changes to the FaurArt festival, highlighting insufficient transparency in the process. The festival, which originated from neighborhood initiative and has become a benchmark, deserved more respectful and grateful treatment towards its founders. They criticize a
in managing collaborations with neighborhood entities, questioning whether the same criteria will be applied to all events, including bullfighting festivities.
Finally, Junts per Faura concludes that the current government of Faura shows signs of exhaustion, failing to listen or adequately manage criticism. A year before the elections, they call for a decision on whether to continue with the current situation, which includes a stalled school, unused sports facilities, and forgotten projects like the new medical center, or to opt for an open, dialoguing, and participatory government.
