The political party argues that security in the city has worsened, pointing to a 30% increase in sexual assaults with penetration over the last year, according to data from the Ministry of Interior. This rise is based on the crime report, which recorded 39 assaults in 2025 compared to 30 in 2024.
Furthermore, Vox criticizes the central government's management, stating that women in Elche are less safe than a year ago. The motion demands immediate measures to reverse what they consider an "unprecedented degradation" of public safety in the municipality.
“"We cannot allow Elche residents to pay first-class taxes to receive third-class security. It is time for the Ministry of Interior to stop protecting criminals and start protecting the honest families of Elche."
Among the demands is a "deep restructuring" of security resources at the Elche Police Station, which, according to the party, suffers from a 20% staff deficit. The implementation of specialized tactical units to combat organized crime and a stricter legislative framework to end recidivism are also proposed.
The municipal group emphasizes that the city has become a scene of extreme violence, with the proliferation of violent youth groups and organized gang activity, as evidenced by recent police operations. The party highlights that Elche has one of the lowest ratios of officers per inhabitant in Spain for municipalities of its size.
