Teachers in the Vega Baja have entered the ninth consecutive day of strike, escalating their demands and warning they will not back down in the face of administrative inaction.

After nine days of mobilizations, the teaching collective in the region has transformed what began as a negotiation process into an ethical conflict. Teachers are not only demanding labor improvements but also respect, expressing profound emotional exhaustion due to management they believe has systematically ignored the needs of the public education system.
The protest intensifies today, Thursday the 21st, with a continuous day of action. Informative pickets will begin at institutes (IES) at 07:40. Subsequently, columns will head towards Alicante, meeting at the Rotonda del Vaixell at 09:00, to gather in front of the Casa de las Brujas at 11:00. In the evening, there will be informational meetings and gatherings in various towns: in Los Montesinos (Plaza del Ayuntamiento) at 19:00, in Albacete (Parque Príncipe de Asturias) also at 19:00, and a gathering of families and teachers in Almoradí (Paseo de Almoradí, next to the Town Hall) at 20:00.
The demands of Vega Baja teachers are considered ethical imperatives to guarantee the quality of public education. Key demands include reducing the student-to-teacher ratio, deemed non-negotiable for quality attention; increased real budgetary allocation for diversity support; and improved working conditions to end daily weariness and precariousness.
Teachers warn there will be no retreat. The responsibility for disruptions to school activities lies solely with those who have chosen silence and indifference over genuine dialogue. The dignity of public education is not for sale, and mobilizations will continue as long as solutions commensurate with the current discontent are not offered.
