This event, commemorating the poet's life and literary journey, will begin at 9:45 AM. Hikers interested in participating can register starting at 8:00 AM.
The activity, organized by the Miguel Hernández Cultural Foundation and the “Tu Pueblo y el Mío” Platform, is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain. Additionally, the ten municipalities through which the Trail passes are collaborating: Orihuela, Redován, Callosa de Segura, Cox, Granja de Rocamora, Albatera, San Isidro, Crevillent, Elche, and Alicante.
Other groups and entities are also participating, including the Association of Friends of Miguel Hernández, the Miguel Hernández University, the Miguel Hernández Chair, the Viento del Pueblo Socio-Cultural Athenaeum, the Miguel Hernández Citizen Coordinator, Orihuela Civil Protection, Orihuela Local Police, Orihuela Red Cross, the National Association of Guerrillas, the Alicante Provincial Council, and the Alicante Civic Commission for the Recovery of Historical Memory.
The inauguration ceremony will include various speeches, among them those by the director of the Miguel Hernández Cultural Foundation and the president of the “Tu Pueblo y el Mío” Platform. There will also be musical performances and the presentation of the “Hiker of the Year” award to a colleague of one of the Trail's promoters, to whom this special edition is dedicated. The mayor of Orihuela and the Minister of Culture will close the event.
