The Public Health Platform of the Torrevieja health department has presented a plan with seven measures to the PSPV-PSOE to improve healthcare and increase investment in the region.

The entity has submitted these proposals to be included in the allegations to the 2026 Generalitat Budget. The main objective is to reduce the deficit in resources and infrastructure that, according to the platform, the health area suffers, which affects waiting lists for specialists and diagnostic tests.
Among the demands is the construction of a second hospital specializing in geriatrics in Orihuela Costa. Meanwhile, they propose creating a geriatric unit at the Torrevieja University Hospital and launching a specialty center near the San Luis health center to decongest the main hospital.
In the field of Primary Care, the platform requests increasing the staff with 47 new Family and Community Medicine physicians to improve current ratios. Likewise, they demand reforms in the health centers of Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela Costa, La Loma, San Miguel de Salinas, and Los Montesinos.
