The Department of Culture of the Orihuela City Council inaugurated this Friday, June 5, the collective painting exhibition ‘Color is Emotion’, by artists Gabriel Morilla Alcalá and Simón Gea Martínez.

The Exhibition Hall of the Reconquista Museum hosts, until June 28, a selection of works where color becomes the main vehicle of artistic and emotional expression. Through different techniques and styles, the artists invite visitors to experience painting from a sensory perspective, where emotions and creativity play a leading role.
According to the artists themselves, the exhibition ‘Color is Emotion’ aims for painting to be a language capable of connecting directly with the viewer's sensibility. The works do not seek an exact representation of reality, but rather experience and personal interpretation through the force of the material, chromatic intensity, and brushstroke movement.
The artistic proposal draws on influences from Impressionism, Surrealism, and American Expressionism, resulting in works where imagination and the expression of inner states acquire special relevance.
The Councilor for Culture, Anabel García, highlighted that the department continues to work to offer a diverse and quality cultural program. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a stable exhibition program throughout the year and encouraged the people of Orihuela to visit the exhibition, which is sure to surprise those who visit the Reconquista Museum.
The exhibition can be visited at the Reconquista Museum, Francisco Díe street, 34, from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00.
