The program will combine institutional events, business meetings, and commemorative publications. The president of the institution, Mario Martínez Murcia, and the vice-president, Cristina Torres Galindo, have detailed some of the planned initiatives, including an institutional video, a specific logo, the re-edition of the book on the Chamber's history, and a special edition of the Night of the Economy 2026.
During the presentation, a video was shown reviewing the entity's trajectory since its establishment on March 27, 1901, focusing on the current challenges of the business fabric of Orihuela and the region. Martínez highlighted the Chamber's sound financial situation, which closed the 2025 fiscal year with a surplus and its accumulated debt canceled.
“The 125th anniversary arrives at a particularly significant moment,” stated the president, who assured that this allows facing the future “from a sound institution, better prepared to advise companies, entrepreneurs, and society in general.” Martínez emphasized the current difficulties faced by companies and entrepreneurs and encouraged those with ongoing projects to visit the Chamber for information on available services, programs, and aid.
For her part, Cristina Torres explained that the commemorative logo will maintain the essence of the Chamber's visual identity, incorporating the number 125. She also announced that work is underway on a new edition of the book "Historia de la Cámara de Comercio, Industria y Servicios de Orihuela," written by the city's official chronicler, Antonio Luis Galiano, which will include a new chapter with the most recent events.
The Chamber will maintain the celebration of the Night of the Economy on October 1, with a marked commemorative character. It will also organize business meetings, including a session focused on female leadership and another dedicated to the artichoke, one of the most representative crops of Orihuela and the Vega Baja.
The objective of this program is to make the anniversary “an opportunity to generate useful conversation, connect companies, and reinforce the Chamber's role as a meeting point for the productive sector,” Torres emphasized. The final calendar of events will be completed as dates and content are finalized.
