Citrus group Fontestad SA has concluded the 2024/2025 fiscal year with a turnover of 207.6 million euros, a 7.6% increase from the previous campaign, and a net profit of 7.03 million.

The Valencian firm, founded by Vicente Fontestad Planells in 1984 and now managed by the second generation, has shown consistent growth. With facilities spanning 50,000 m² and a presence in key logistics hubs like Mercamadrid and Perpignan, Fontestad produces 160 million kilos of citrus annually. Of this total, 40% comes from its own controlled production, covering approximately 900 hectares across the Valencian Community, Andalusia, and Murcia.
During the analyzed period, from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, the company, specializing in the wholesale trade of oranges and mandarins, has seen its results improve, according to filings with the Mercantile Registry. Furthermore, the company has expanded its permanent workforce, increasing from 1,414 to 1,537 employees.
Fontestad markets its citrus under its own brands such as Fontestad and Tío Vicent in the Spanish market, and Mademoiselle and Coquette in France. Exports have been a key driver of growth: 109 million euros correspond to the domestic market, 44 million to the European Union, and 52 million to third countries. This growth is attributed to the consolidation of its commercial activity and the strengthening of its position in the agri-food sector. The group includes subsidiaries such as Fontestad France, Fontestad Citrus, Fontestad Energy, and Fontestad UK.
Additionally, Fontestad holds a 13.62% stake in Zuvamesa (Zumos Valencianos del Mediterráneo), a project that allows for the processing of discarded fruit, reduces food waste, and secures a seat on the board of directors. Other major Valencian citrus firms, including Juan Montilla, Cañamás Hermanos, Bagu, and Vicente Giner, also participate in this initiative.
