Daya Vieja City Council has located an urban planning agreement signed in 2006 that committed to the rezoning of agricultural land where the municipal football field is located.

The document, which did not appear in the versions of the General Urban Development Plan, was provided by the property owners. The current government team stated they were unaware of the existence of this commitment until now.
According to municipal sources, the agreement intended to transform land into urban plots that, according to technical reports, was legally unfeasible due to environmental and water resource reasons. The current local government included the plot as public facility land in the planning review carried out in 2023.

"This is another case of irresponsible management from previous terms."

The council points out that the agreement had already been breached since 2017, when the property was excluded from urban planning by higher administrations. This discovery comes shortly after a court ruling favorable to the municipality regarding a multi-million euro claim from a private company.
