The fire affecting a well-known junkyard located near Vega Baja Hospital, active since Saturday afternoon, is still not under control. Firefighters are focusing on removing vehicles and other elements that could fuel the flames and increase their intensity.
According to the Provincial Consortium, the main tasks involve the removal of stored flammable materials, which poses an additional danger. This controlled action aims to reduce the risk of the fire reigniting and facilitate its definitive extinction.
Despite the difficulties, work continues very actively. The Consortium expects the fire to be brought under control in the coming hours. The operation will remain deployed throughout this Sunday to prevent the flames from affecting nearby areas and causing further material damage, especially due to its proximity to Vega Baja Hospital.
