The main objective of the action is to improve mobility and safety in the accesses to the future educational center, located next to the CV-935 road. To achieve this, new pedestrian routes, vehicle spaces, and parking areas will be created, facilitating traffic in an area where a significant increase in traffic is expected once the school is operational.
The contract, published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, includes various actions in the school's surroundings. Among these, the construction of a new pedestrian-cyclist lane stands out, which will connect the Puente del Río neighborhood with the roundabout accessing the Las Maromas industrial estate. This project responds to the need to complete the educational center's works, as the building's construction did not initially include the urbanization of its accesses.
The project includes a pedestrian-cyclist route 161.65 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, located next to the road and separated by planters and protective railings. Additionally, earthworks, curb replacement, horizontal and vertical signage, and the adaptation of existing infrastructures such as agricultural irrigation networks and potable water pipelines will be carried out.
The second part of the action focuses on the direct urbanization of the school's accesses. On the northeast facade of the center, the sidewalk will be widened to improve the safety of student pedestrian routes. A battery parking lot with 27 spaces for light vehicles —two of them adapted— and two additional spaces for school buses will also be built.
The design includes a six-meter wide maneuvering lane, a 2.30-meter pedestrian route separated from traffic by planters, and a drainage system to evacuate rainwater. With this action, the council aims to avoid traffic problems during peak hours and provide the new CEIP nº4 with safe and orderly accesses for all users.
