This new facility, which opened its doors last Tuesday, April 2, 2026, seeks to improve access to security services for Albatera's more than 13,300 inhabitants. The inauguration was attended by the sub-delegate of the Government in Alicante, Manuel Pineda, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Darder and Captain Antonio Cava, along with councilors from the PP government team and the PSOE opposition.
The office, which will be staffed by agents from the Dolores Main Post, is located on the second floor of the municipal building 3 de abril, in Plaza San Jaime in Albatera. The service will be operational from Monday to Friday during working hours, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing residents to formalize complaints and carry out other procedures requiring in-person attention without leaving the municipality.
“"The opening of this office represents an important step forward for Albatera, because it brings the Guardia Civil and the General State Administration closer to the residents, facilitating procedures that until now required traveling to another municipality."
Citizen security in Albatera, as well as in Catral, Daya Vieja, and Daya Nueva, has historically depended on the Guardia Civil's main post in Dolores. Recently, on April 1, the mayor of Dolores, Joaquín Hernández, announced the cession of municipal land to rehabilitate and expand the existing barracks, an initiative that seeks to guarantee the permanence of this facility in his municipality.
This expansion, which is still in a preliminary phase, would have the approval of the Ministry of the Interior and would involve an investment of over one million euros, financed 70% by the Ministry and 30% by the municipality. With this new office, Albatera strengthens its local public services, offering more agile and convenient attention to its citizens.
