Two men, aged 46 and 37, have been arrested in Vinaròs as alleged perpetrators of theft and fraud, after stealing a bank card and using it to withdraw 1,000 euros in cash from an ATM on March 27.

The events began when Civil Guard agents detected suspicious activity near a bank in Vinaròs. They observed a man, with his face partially covered by a beret and scarf, operating an ATM. After the withdrawal, he met another person, removed the items covering his face, and handed over part of the withdrawn money. This sequence raised the agents' suspicions.
The subsequent investigation led to the identification of one of the individuals, who was carrying 350 euros in 50-euro notes and responded evasively. Inquiries confirmed the illicit withdrawal of 1,000 euros and led to the location of the cardholder. Security camera footage was crucial in identifying the second individual.

This type of incident highlights the need for constant vigilance over bank cards and their access codes.

It was discovered that the second detainee lived with the victim and had allegedly stolen the card along with the PIN. Both detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 4 of Vinaròs.
Authorities emphasize the importance of protecting bank details, never writing down the PIN with the card, changing the secret number periodically, and reviewing bank movements. In case of loss or fraudulent use, it is essential to block the card immediately and file the corresponding complaint.
