The Councilor for Culture and Mayor, María Dolores Miralles, presented this morning the program for this cultural event, which will be inaugurated at half past ten in the morning. Following the inauguration, scheduled activities for all ages will begin, including workshops, shows, participatory storytelling, games, and storytellers.
In total, the fair will host 50 exhibitors, including associations, bookstores, publishers, institutions, and florists. Additionally, 20 writers will be present to introduce and sign their works. Among the confirmed authors are Albert Alarcón, Alejandro de Gracia, Xavi Verdoy, Joana Bruna, Amelia Noguera, Alicia Giménez Bartlett (winner of the Nadal Award and the Planeta Award), María José Llorach, Miguel Torija, Nil Climent, Pilar Bellés, Conxa Solans, José Luis Reyes, Julia Cuartiella, Joan Ferreres, Ester Forner, Juan José Casanova, Alfredo Gómez, José Carlos Adell, and Antonio Carrasco.
Miralles highlighted that one of this edition's novelties will be the exhibition and murals prepared for the occasion. On Saturday, visitors can view the exhibition of aucas by Francesc Almela Vives, created by 1st-year ESO students from IES José Vilaplana, next to the BiblioPlatja. Also on display will be the literary mural Obrir un llibre és obrir la ment, created by Casal Jove in the Pérgola de las Letras, and the decorative mural Les estrelles més salvatges del cinema at the Municipal Library stand.
Once again, visitors can participate in the Salvem un llibre campaign, which involves receiving a gift voucher for the purchase of any book to acquire a second-hand work from the Municipal Library. The closing of the Book Fair will take place at a quarter past eight in the evening with a balloon release by the Colla de Nanos i Gegants de Vinaròs.
“"It is an event that has consolidated over the years; it is the most important fair from Castellón to Tarragona, and many writers and publishers want to be part of this day."
