The Civil Guard of Vinaròs has arrested two men, aged 46 and 37, as alleged perpetrators of theft and fraud, after they stole a bank card and used it to withdraw cash from an ATM in the town.

The events took place on March 27, when agents observed an individual with his face partially hidden by a beret and scarf at an ATM. After making a withdrawal, he met with a second person, to whom he handed over part of the withdrawn money, both taking opposite directions, which raised suspicions among the agents.
Upon identifying the first individual, who was carrying 350 euros in 50-euro bills, he responded with denials and evasions. Subsequent inquiries confirmed an illicit withdrawal of 1,000 euros.
The investigation, which included reviewing security cameras, led to the identification of the second person. It was discovered that this person lived with the victim and had stolen the card along with the PIN.
The two detainees, aged 46 and 37, have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 4 of Vinaròs. The Civil Guard reminds citizens of the importance of taking extreme precautions in the use and custody of bank cards, as well as immediately reporting any fraudulent use to the financial institution and authorities.
