The provincial leader participated in the inauguration of this event, accompanied by the mayor of La Salzadella, Cristóbal Segarra, and the vice-president responsible for Tourism, Andrés Martínez. The fair will fill the town's streets with the extraordinary varieties of cherries produced locally, a proximity product made possible by the effort of farmers.
Barrachina highlighted that “to speak of La Salzadella is to speak of cherries” and praised the work of the residents dedicated to cultivating this fruit, a tradition that has been perfected generation after generation to achieve varieties of extraordinarily sweet quality and flavor.
For the president of the Provincial Council, this fruit is a fundamental element “of the town's identity, carrying the unique quality and flavor of our land to every corner of the world”. “In the province of Castellón, we can boast an exceptional pantry, based on zero-kilometer products. And cherries are a great example of that excellence,” she stated.
During the two days of the fair, visitors can purchase fresh cherries of recognized quality, as well as various products derived from this fruit, which “represent the best of our gastronomy”. The event serves as a showcase for cherries and a celebration of the tradition and effort of the local residents.
Visitors can also enjoy gastronomic offerings and cultural activities linked to the municipality, making the event a showcase for local products and everything organized economically and culturally around the harvest season.
The Provincial Council of Castellón supports these events, recognizing their importance for the local economy and the promotion of products. “Betting on our own means supporting the territory, the local economy, and the future of agriculture,” Barrachina affirmed.
