The incident took place on Wednesday in the town of Sant Mateu, when a cyclist fell on a forest path. Initially, the alert received around 7:00 PM indicated it might be a motorcyclist, but it was soon confirmed to be a man on a bicycle.
The Castellón Provincial Firefighters Consortium confirmed the accident. A unit and a command unit from the Baix Maestrat Park were dispatched to the scene. Additionally, the Generalitat Valenciana Forest Firefighters also mobilized a unit to assist in the rescue.
After being rescued by firefighters, the cyclist received attention from the paramedics deployed to the area. Subsequently, he was transferred to a hospital for more extensive medical care due to the injuries sustained in the accident.
