The municipality of Càlig is preparing for the 35th edition of the Sant Vicent Festival, a deeply rooted event that will culminate on Monday with the traditional Olleta Calijona and the official request to be declared a Provincial Tourist Interest Festival.

The celebration, organized by the Colla de Dansaires with the support of the Town Council, will begin on Saturday, April 11, with an announcement through the streets to mobilize the residents. The main events will take place on Sunday, including a parade, mass, and the traditional performances of the Cant de la Lloa and the Ball de la Dansa in Plaça Nova.
One of the most anticipated moments will be the intervention of the 'lloador', who will request permission from the mayor to recite verses dedicated to Sant Vicent, incorporating local criticism with an ironic tone. Sunday's events will conclude with a 'correfoc' (fire run) at 10:00 PM, filling the streets with light and gunpowder.
On Monday, Sant Vicent's Day, the Town Council will offer the popular Olleta Calijona, with nearly 400 servings, followed by a dance with live music, marking the end of the festivities.

"The Colla de Dansaires has been key in the recovery of the festival 35 years ago and has highlighted its active role in local festive life. She also noted that the process to achieve recognition as a Provincial Tourist Interest Festival is part of the government team's objectives."
