The Alcalà de Xivert City Council has renovated the lighting of several outdoor sports facilities by installing 82 new LED luminaires, improving visibility and energy efficiency.

The project involved the installation of 82 new 1,150 W sports projector-type luminaires. These have been installed at the San Fernando football pitch, tennis courts, fronton, paddle tennis courts, and 3x3 football pitches in the Alcalà sports area, as well as at the football pitch and sports areas in Les Fonts.
The total investment amounted to 35,038 euros and was financed with funds from the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destinations, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU funds.
This comprehensive modernization of sports lighting provides greater visibility on the playing fields and superior visual comfort for players and spectators. The improvement in lighting quality may also allow compliance with sports federation requirements for hosting competitions at various levels and facilitate nighttime events.
The new luminaires are energy-efficient, resulting in reduced electricity consumption, lower economic costs, and minimized environmental impact.

"With this action, we are improving the football pitches and sports areas of Alcalá and Alcossebre, which are widely used by people of different age groups, and updating them according to current demands, such as energy efficiency and lighting quality."
