The À Punt program 'Terra de festes' visited Alfarrasí to showcase the emotional ritual of the Angelet de la Corda, a century-old tradition where a child dressed as an angel removes the veil from the Virgin of Sorrows.

This ritual, dating back to 1912, involves a child descending suspended by pulleys in the Plaça Major. Reporter Nerea Camps experienced this moment firsthand, speaking with residents and the child protagonist, to capture the essence of this deeply rooted local celebration.
The program also followed the subsequent procession to the church and the celebration of mass. Additionally, a visit was made to the museum dedicated to the Angelet de la Corda, a space that preserves the memory of all the girls who have participated in this tradition throughout its history.
'Terra de festes' is an initiative promoted by À Punt, the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), and the Presidency of the Generalitat. Its objective is to reaffirm the commitment to showcasing the cultural and festive richness of Valencian towns, highlighting these traditions that form an essential part of our collective identity.
