The City Council of El Ràfol de Salem has received a subsidy of 12,004.04 euros from the Diputación de Valencia for a local economic stimulus program, aiming to revitalize commerce and ensure proximity services in this municipality in Vall d'Albaida.
This project, named Local Economic Boost Program in El Ràfol, is part of the aid allocated for financing municipal projects for territorial and demographic development in 2025. The justification for this investment must be completed during the month of June.
Despite having a population of 470 inhabitants, El Ràfol de Salem has six active businesses that serve the local community. The initiative seeks to strengthen this commercial fabric and ensure the continuity of essential services for the community.
The main objective is to foster the territorial and socioeconomic development of the locality, increasing activity in local establishments and offering sustainable alternatives that reinforce the sense of belonging and rootedness in the town.
Like many inland municipalities with small populations, El Ràfol de Salem faces a delicate demographic reality that can jeopardize the maintenance of services and opportunities. Small businesses and shops are fundamental for local life and for the attractiveness of the municipality as a place to live, which is why they need active policies that encourage local consumption.
The project aligns with the terms of the Diputación's call, especially in the lines aimed at combating depopulation, revitalizing the local economy, and promoting services of general interest. Furthermore, it incorporates an innovative dimension with the use of technology for managing vouchers and a comprehensive communication campaign, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion, promoting responsible consumption, and contributing to the permanence of the population in the territory.
