The initiative will allow free visits to some of the municipality's most emblematic spaces, from museums dedicated to archaeology and art to unique heritage resources such as the Cava de Sant Blai or the interpretation center of les Covetes dels Moros (les Covetes de Colomer). It is a perfect opportunity to rediscover one of the most charming and historic towns in the interior of the province of Valencia.
Throughout Sunday morning, residents and visitors will be able to explore different cultural spaces spread throughout Bocairent's historic center, many of them located in old buildings full of uniqueness and heritage value.
Museums and open spaces include the “Vicent Casanova” Archaeological Museum (from 10:00 to 11:45 AM) and the Antonio Ferri Museum (from 10:00 to 11:45 AM). The Cava de Sant Blai will also offer free access from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
In addition to the open house days, there will be free guided tours to explore two of Bocairent's most representative and curious sites. The historic Bocairent Bullring, partially excavated into rock and considered one of the most unique in the Valencian Community, will offer guided tours at 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM, 1:00 PM, and 1:30 PM.
The Interpretation Center of les Covetes dels Moros (popularly known as Covetes de Colomer), dedicated to explaining the origin and function of these famous caves, will also feature free guided passes at the same times: 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM, 1:00 PM, and 1:30 PM.
International Museum Day, promoted annually by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), seeks to bring culture and heritage closer to citizens through special activities, free visits, and educational proposals. In Bocairent's case, the celebration also becomes an ideal opportunity to stroll through its medieval streets and discover some of the most outstanding heritage treasures of the Vall d’Albaida.
