This past weekend has been historic for volleyball in La Safor, thanks to the success of the junior teams formed by players from both entities. The synergy between the two clubs allowed the teams to secure two regional runner-up titles in the finals held at the newly inaugurated Sara Marín y María Díez Pavilion in Elche.
In the women's category, players Laia and Carla from Bellreguard, along with Melany and Leonor from Club Voleibol Arenas Gandia, reached the grand final after defeating rivals such as Daya Nueva, Mediterráneo de Castellón, and Valencia. Despite accumulated fatigue, the girls, coached by Paco, fell to CV Ilicitano, but had already secured their direct spot for the National Championship in Valladolid.
Meanwhile, the men's team, featuring players from Joan XXIII, Roís de Corella, and Bellreguard, had a spectacular tournament. They achieved convincing 2-0 victories against Petrer, Salesianos San Rafael, Catarroja, and Benidorm, the latter in the semi-final. Once in the final and with their qualification for the Spanish Championship already guaranteed, they played against Salesianos, prioritizing the participation of all players over the final result.
Players Víctor Vlonga, Enzo Borràs, Miquel Navarro, Adrià Ortiz, and Aimar Caudeli secured the runner-up title, which takes them to the national competition for the second consecutive year. The cadet teams also performed well, with the girls entering the regional top 12 and the boys finishing in a commendable seventh or eighth position after being defeated in the semi-final access by CV Benidorm in the tie-break set.
Now, the club, along with its partners from Bellreguard, faces the preparation for their double presence in the Spanish Championship. The main challenge is financial, which they hope to resolve through organizing tournaments or raffles. The club wishes to thank everyone involved in the project for their dedication and, especially, Decorgandia for lending their vans for transportation. This success highlights the great outcome of the union between two neighboring clubs for the benefit of the players.
