The Town Hall of Tavernes de la Valldigna has launched an innovative natural disaster prevention system aimed at improving municipal safety and protecting its environment.

The council will implement an early forest fire detection system designed to identify fires in their initial stages. This device will rely on the installation of units with satellite-connected cameras and advanced sensors in sensitive mountain areas. These technologies will detect anomalies and send immediate alerts to the Emergency services, monitoring parameters such as humidity, wind, smoke, and temperature, as well as geolocating the fire's origin.
This system will significantly reduce response times to incidents, a key factor in minimizing environmental and material damage. Additionally, a citizen alert system using acoustic signals and public address systems will be implemented to quickly inform the population of any emergency. This system will operate autonomously, ensuring functionality even during power outages.
The alert system's coverage will extend to both the urban center and the beach, featuring a control center and multiple public address points throughout the municipality. The planned investment is 101,300 euros, subsidized by the Environmental Department of the Diputació de València.

"We continue to advocate for a safer city prepared for the effects of climate change and natural emergencies. This initiative places us at the forefront of prevention and demonstrates our commitment to caring for and protecting people and our natural environment."

Lara Romero · Mayor

"This system represents a significant advancement for citizen safety. Having an autonomous and immediate alert mechanism allows us to communicate any emergency quickly and effectively, even in extraordinary situations affecting usual communications."

Emilio Fonseca · Councillor for Citizen Security

"Prevention is the best tool to protect our natural heritage. With this system, we can act much faster in the face of any incident and reinforce our commitment to the conservation of Tavernes' mountains and natural spaces."

Vicen Mifsud · Councillor for Environment
