The Suma Autonomous Rowing Ergometer Championship will be held this Saturday, April 25, at the Alicante High Performance Center, bringing together nearly 300 athletes from twelve clubs across the Valencian Community.

The Valencian Community Rowing Federation is resuming this event, which was originally planned for February but was canceled at the time due to adverse weather conditions. The championship is sponsored by Summa Gestión Tributaria.
This competition is unique, as rowing ergometer is a discipline contested on specialized machines that simulate the action of rowing. It is a highly inclusive style that facilitates access for groups of all ages, from 8-year-old novices to those over 75. For younger participants, it offers an opportunity to experience the pace of competition and gain a rewarding experience.
The championship will take place throughout the morning and afternoon. The morning session will feature the novice, children's, and cadet categories, while the afternoon schedule includes events for youth, open, veterans, under 23, SCM (breast cancer survivors), and PR (adapted rowing ergometer).
The competition has two modalities: individual and relay, with four athletes competing per team. Distances vary by age, ranging from 500 to 2,000 meters, a figure that is doubled for relay events. Nearly 230 individual athletes and 38 teams are expected to participate in the relays.
The twelve participating clubs include Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico Jávea, Club Náutico Campello, Club Náutico Benidorm, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Club Rem Cia. Gandia, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Valencia, Club de Remo Ciudad de Valencia, Real Club Regatas Alicante, and Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot el Campello.
