Civil Guard officers in Gandia have rescued a woman trapped in a smoke-filled apartment. The incident occurred in a building close to the Civil Guard barracks, where officers detected a significant amount of smoke.

The swift action of the Civil Guard has led to the rescue of a woman from a fire that broke out in a building in Gandia. Officers, alerted by the large amount of smoke emanating from a window of a property just meters from their barracks, immediately approached the scene.
Passersby also alerted the officers to the situation. Upon reaching the building, officers entered to locate the source of the smoke, which was concentrated in a specific apartment, emitting thick black smoke. After several attempts to communicate with any potential occupants, they heard a faint, faltering voice.
It was a woman suffering from smoke inhalation, evidenced by her persistent coughing. Despite her efforts, she could not open the door due to disorientation. The officers had to force entry into the apartment to reach her.
Once the door was opened, a large volume of smoke made visibility and breathing difficult. Officers quickly entered to evacuate the woman, who was clearly experiencing respiratory distress. After confirming no one else was inside, measures were taken to ensure the safety of the other residents in the building.
This operation involved officers from the Judicial Police Team of the Civil Guard in Gandia and the Roca Team of the Gandia Company, in collaboration with the Gandia Traffic Detachment and the local Police.
