Record Participation in Gandia's 10K Night Race

Over 4,300 runners participated in the 14th edition of the race, which broke its participant record with a new homologated course.

The 14th edition of the Gandia Beach 10K Night Race by BOLLO saw a record turnout with over 4,300 runners, exceeding all expectations and setting a new benchmark for registrations.

The race, held last Saturday, attracted participants from all autonomous communities of the peninsula and from 443 different towns, demonstrating the wide reach of the sporting event.
In the men's absolute category, Joel Camarena (Vicky Foods Athletics) secured victory for the second consecutive year, finishing in 30 minutes and 36 seconds. Blai Roca (Ironwill Pro) took second place with 31:08, and César López (CE La Vespa de Novetlé) was third with 31:21.
The women's competition was won by Soukaina El Khayami (Vicky Foods Athletics), who crossed the finish line in 35 minutes and 14 seconds. Marta Ceperuelo (Vicky Foods-Oysho) finished in second position with 36:26, while Arancha Tejero (Dawako Athletic) took third place with a time of 37:10.
Before the race, an emotional tribute was held for Toni Herreros, attended by his widow, Amparo Victoria, and family members. The event also saw the presence of authorities, including the mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, who officially started the race, alongside representatives from the municipal government and the opposition.
This year's race introduced significant novelties. A new course, homologated by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), was implemented, designed for faster times with a flat, single-loop layout and few turns. Additionally, two differentiated starts based on predicted pace were organized: the first at 9:00 PM for faster runners, and a second two minutes later for those expecting to finish in over 45 minutes. A youth category for athletes born in 2009 and 2010 was also added.
The atmosphere along the entire route was festive, with a large crowd and various entertainment points featuring brass bands, batucadas, mascots, and mobile discos. The temperature during the race was 22.8 degrees Celsius, with 86% humidity and a northeast wind.
The organization provided aid stations at kilometer 5 and the finish line, offering fruit and drinks. Bib collection and logistics were centralized at the parking lot of the Nova Marina de Gandia. The event was made possible by the collaboration of volunteers, Civil Protection, security forces, medical personnel, the Red Cross, and municipal brigades.
