The indefinite strike by teachers in non-university public education in the Valencian Community began today in Gandia with information pickets and green t-shirts, marking an incident-free day with a notable reduction in student attendance at schools.

Normalcy was the dominant trend at the entrance to schools in Gandia during this first day of the strike, called by the unions. Many families have expressed their support for the teachers' demands, although they have taken their children to school due to the difficulty of work-life balance.

"Of course, they have to go on strike to achieve the minimums they need; I would do the same in my sector if it were in the same situation, despite the harm to families."

At CEIP Cervantes, in the Corea neighborhood, a mother commented that the alternative was to leave her daughters at school or not be able to go to work. She also shares the teachers' criticisms regarding the discrimination of Valencian and points out the need for more maintenance at the center, where there were leaks a few days ago.
A Local Police officer regulating traffic at the entrance of Cervantes estimated student attendance at 15%, highlighting the significant drop compared to a normal day. Information pickets were more frequent and earlier at high schools than at Infant and Primary schools.
At IES Tirant lo Blanc, a union representative estimated that about 80 teachers joined the strike but criticized the minimum services decreed by the Conselleria as abusive. The tranquility was also noticeable in the parking lot, which was practically empty. Additionally, a strike for adult students from 3rd year of ESO onwards has been called.
Some teachers who went to work did so wearing the green t-shirt, a symbol of this movement against the Ministry of Education. There were also cases of parents who are also teachers and still left their children at school to participate in the mobilizations planned today in the city, such as the concentration in the Plaça Major.
