Youth from several Gandia parishes organized a charity dinner last Friday, May 8, to raise funds and mitigate the damages caused by a robbery at the Beato Andrés Hibernón sanctuary.

The event, which included a prior prayer in the chapel, managed to collect 1,030 euros. This amount represents approximately one-third of the more than three thousand euros that were stolen from the sanctuary last March, during the Fallas week.
In addition to the economic loss, the thieves caused minor damage to the site, such as the destruction of donation boxes. The investigation into the assault is still ongoing.

"We prayed together and especially asked for those who harm the Church."

During the gathering, a priest shared biographical aspects of the blessed and thanked the attendees for their generosity. The Gandia City Council, owner of the property, has announced the installation of surveillance cameras to prevent future incidents, as it is not the first time the sanctuary has suffered a robbery.
