The council believes that the applied increases «are not appropriate» and that «there is no sufficient technical justification to support them». This decision aims to protect the economic balance of existing concessions in the municipality.
“"From the City Council, we defend that these modifications alter the economic balance of existing concessions, which is why a review of the resolution and adequate technical and legal justification will be requested."
Additionally, the local governing board has accepted a pre-allocation of 24,427 euros from the Diputación de Valencia for forest fire management and prevention. These funds will be allocated to the program for the recovery of traditional uses through extensive and controlled livestock farming, known as Ramat de foc.
In the social sphere, a direct subsidy of 13,000 euros has been granted to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) Gandia to fund activities and cover personnel expenses. An 11,000 euro subsidy has also been approved for the Santa Anna Neighborhood Association to collaborate in financing the cultural and festive program of the neighborhood, as well as citizen participation and economic revitalization actions.
A collaboration agreement has been approved with the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of La Safor for an amount of 10,000 euros, to strengthen their advisory, training, and promotion work with the entire hospitality and tourism sector of Gandia and the region. Furthermore, the agreement with the Cultural Gastronomic Association Fideuà de Gandia, endowed with 20,000 euros, has been greenlit for the organization of the 51st edition of the International Fideuà de Gandia Contest.
In parallel, the board has granted a subsidy of 14,000 euros to the Cultural Association of Gandia for the promotion and dissemination of the Gandia Cultural Spaces Network (Cheque). This network brings together cultural, heritage, natural, and tourist spaces in the city to promote them jointly and offer an integrated cultural experience. This subsidy will allow progress in the implementation of the Visit Gandia card, which will facilitate visits with discounts or combined access.
“"The idea is to facilitate, starting in June, that both visitors and residents can discover the entire heritage of Gandia with a single card, promoting a complete tour of museums, monuments, and cultural spaces."
