Gandia International Fideuà Contest Breaks Record with Chefs from Seven Countries

The 51st edition of Gandia's gastronomic competition surpasses registrations, attracting participants from seven countries and solidifying its international projection.

The Gandia International Fideuà Contest, in its 51st edition in 2026, has broken an international participation record, featuring chefs from seven countries, consolidating its position as a key gastronomic event in southern Europe.

The organization of the competition has confirmed that this edition will feature chefs from Mexico, Italy, Ireland, France, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand. This broad international representation underscores the growing global projection of Gandia's fideuà.
The public draw for participants, held recently, highlighted the high interest generated by this event, with a number of registrants exceeding the available slots. David Pardo, president of the Gandia Fideuà Gastronomic Association, emphasized the record in international participation and the effort to strengthen the presence of local restaurants.

This edition will combine the international block with representatives from the local and national spheres, including the finalist of the fideuà contest held in Asturias. In the Valencian Community, the selected restaurants are Arrocería Mornell (El Palmar), Puerta del Mar and Binhui Food (València), Asador Alfabega (Alginet), and La Solera (Daimús).
For its part, Gandia will feature the participation of establishments such as L’Ham, Isabel Playa restaurant, El Globo, Hotel Safari, and Casa José, reinforcing the role of the local fabric in the competition. Additionally, reserves have been designated in both the regional and local blocks to cover potential absences.
The Councilor for Tourism, Balbina Sendra, highlighted the contest's trajectory, emphasizing that gastronomy is a fundamental pillar in the city's promotion. She stressed the current good moment of the sector, indicating that the high number of registrations reflects the excellent state of local gastronomy and its growing international projection.
