Gandia Hosts Third Edition of Next to You Foundation's Solidarity Lunch

The event, combining social action and citizen participation, will take place next Saturday, May 18, at Mercat del Prado.

The Next to You Foundation, with the support of the Gandia City Council and the collaboration of Bunyoleres sense Fronteres, will hold the third edition of its solidarity lunch next Saturday, May 18, at the Mercat del Prado.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Inma Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of this initiative, which she describes as a significant event in the city's solidarity calendar. According to Rodríguez, the activity reflects Gandia's commitment to people at risk of social exclusion and promotes coexistence.

The president of the Next to You Foundation, Virginia Pons, explained that the event will take place at the Mercat del Prado, with a limited capacity of 500 people. Pons thanked the involvement of citizens, entities, and local businesses, emphasizing that “Gandia is a very supportive city”.
The day will begin at 12:00 PM with musical ambiance and preliminary activities, followed by the solidarity lunch at 2:00 PM. Afterwards, there will be a solidarity raffle with the participation of local businesses, and the afternoon will conclude with a session by DJ Diego Mas. Tickets, with a donation of 10 euros, can be purchased at Mercat del Prado, la Bodega, Farmàcia Bertó, and Farmàcia Central. There are also collaboration options through a zero-row, digital sponsorships for 150 euros, or Bizum donations.
Yolanda García, project director of the Foundation, stated that the objective is “to help with joy and coexistence”. During the event, food and essential product collection will be carried out for social entities and city soup kitchens.
