Gandia's political scene intensifies with rallies by Compromís, PP, and PSPV-PSOE, a year before the 2027 municipal elections, aiming to mobilize supporters and present electoral strategies.

The political landscape in Gandia has experienced a weekend of intense activity with an eye on May 2027. With one year to go until the elections, the city's three main political parties held large-scale events to mobilize their bases, present their strategies, and outline the key directions for the upcoming electoral campaign.
Compromís kicked off the series of events on Friday at Tossal street, under the slogan «2027: the people's hour». The gathering served to activate the membership and launch the digital platform 2027.compromis.net, aimed at recruiting volunteers and donations for local teams. The general secretary of Més Compromís, Amparo Piquer, issued a call to action, while regional secretary Ivà Bonet emphasized that «Compromís's strength has always been its people». The closing remarks were made by Esther Sapena, who urged preparations for the future to reclaim «useful and dignified» institutions.
On Saturday, it was the turn of the Popular Party, which gathered over 400 people for a popular lunch in Plaza Sant Josep del Raval. Local president Víctor Soler, accompanied by the general secretary of the PPCV, Carlos Gil, declared the «campaign for change» initiated with a critical discourse towards the current municipal management. Soler stated that «the time has come for the 40-year socialist regime to end». Carlos Gil reinforced this leadership, assuring that «our heart is with Valencia, with Gandia, and with Víctor Soler and his team».
On Sunday, the PSPV-PSOE concluded the weekend with an open day at Ausiàs March park, which brought together more than 600 citizens. The mayor, José Manuel Prieto, defended his management model based on moderation and economic results, highlighting the debt reduction and the 130 million euros in investments achieved since 2015. Prieto requested confidence to continue his city project, stating that «the best electoral campaign is the day-to-day work».
