The Councilor for Tourism, Beaches, and External Promotion, Balbina Sendra, highlighted the relevance of the city hosting this national commemoration. “It is an honor and a pride for Gandia to serve as the venue for such a significant milestone on a national scale. Being part of this select group of municipalities that have maintained the excellence of their beaches and ports uninterruptedly for 40 years shows that sustainability and quality are not a temporary effort, but a reason for being for our city,” she stated.
The councilor also wanted to emphasize the collective nature of this recognition. “This success belongs to all citizens, to the beach services, and to the tourism sector. That is why we want to celebrate this national capital by opening the commemoration to residents and visitors through the 'Gandia a la Mar' activities, reinforcing our historical commitment to the coastline,” she pointed out.
Gandia has renewed this year the Blue Flag on the Nord beach, thus achieving its 40th consecutive distinction. Added to this is the renewal of the flag at l’Auir beach and the Marjal Natura Classroom of Gandia, as well as the Blue Trail recognition for the elevated pedestrian walkway of Nord beach and a special national mention for the work developed in rescue and lifeguarding.
On the occasion of this celebration, the Tourism Department has prepared a special program of “Gandia a la Mar” between May 29 and 31.
