Gandia's Education Councilor, Esther Sapena, has denounced the lack of public places for the 0-3 age stage by the Generalitat Valenciana, despite the increased demand.

The Gandia City Council maintains an extraordinary effort to guarantee early childhood education, taking on responsibilities beyond its scope. Councilor for Education, Esther Sapena, has pointed out that the rise in demand for places in the city's municipal nursery schools, boosted by the free provision announced by the Generalitat Valenciana, has not been matched by the creation of new places by the regional administration.
Sapena emphasized that waiting lists are not due to a lack of municipal management but to increased demand generated by a Generalitat measure without corresponding resource expansion. Currently, there are 34 vacancies in municipal nursery schools due to families withdrawing their applications. Once offered, the waiting list will decrease from 94 to approximately 60 families, of which 52 do not reside in Gandia, leaving only 8 local families awaiting a municipal public place.
The councilor criticized the attitude of the Popular Party of Gandia, accusing them of demagoguery with manipulated data. She asked councilor Víctor Soler to demand the creation of 0-3 year old classrooms from his party in Valencia, instead of blaming the City Council for a lack of places that falls under the responsibility of his department.
Sapena called for prudence and responsibility until the enrollment process is definitively closed, urging the Popular Party not to unnecessarily worry families for partisan gain. The department will continue working to offer the best possible service and demanding the Generalitat create the necessary public places.
