The spokesperson for the Popular Municipal Group, Víctor Soler, has criticized the management of the socialist mayor, José Manuel Prieto, regarding the improvement of road infrastructure around the city, particularly concerning the CV-60. Soler points out that, following the signing of a collaboration protocol in January 2025 between the Ministry of Transport and the Gandia City Council, progress has been minimal.
According to Soler, the mayor announced a supposed Infrastructure Pact and committed to bringing together representatives from the State, the Generalitat, and the City Council to define the connections between the AP-7 and the CV-60. However, the PP claims that nothing was done and that proposals presented by the Popular Party in August 2025 were not even answered, raising doubts about the reality of the negotiations with the Ministry.
Given this situation, the Popular Party has formally requested a detailed report on the actions taken by the mayor with the Ministry, including meetings, agreements, and the current status of the infrastructure, considered key for the development of Gandia and the region.
Soler has described Prieto as "the mayor of announcements and unfulfilled promises," arguing that he has accumulated more pending projects than actual results after three years in office. The Popular spokesperson regrets that citizens pay taxes for solutions and not for "permanent propaganda campaigns" that never materialize.
Finally, Soler demands "seriousness, transparency, and commitment" from the mayor, urging him to provide the requested information "as soon as possible" so that the citizens of Gandia can know the real progress or if this is "another empty announcement from the socialist government."
