The Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is hosting a key conference today to analyze the potential of sports tourism as a driver for diversification and visitor attraction.

Under the theme “Reflections for the promotion of sports tourism in Gandia and La Safor”, the event aims to explore how the combination of tourism and sport can boost the tourist offer and attract higher value profiles throughout the year.
The Gandia Tourism and Promotion Chair, in collaboration with the Tourism Department of Gandia City Council, has designed a program that combines institutional analysis with the practical experience of leading companies in sports event management and accommodation.
The conference will begin at 9:00 AM with the institutional opening by the delegated councilor for Tourism and Promotion of the Gandia City Council. A highlight will be the round table “Will sports tourism be the new sun and beach tourism?”, moderated by the Chair's director.
The second part of the morning will focus on success stories and practical recommendations, with the participation of representatives from companies such as Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort, Turesport, and RH Hoteles, who will share their strategies for managing training camps, organizing events, and tourist de-seasonalization.
The conference is aimed at students and professionals from travel agencies, federations, clubs, hospitality, and public administration. Registration is free and can be completed through the official website of the Chair.
