The Board of the Ducal Palace of Gandia has today awarded the rehabilitation works for the historic building for an amount of 1,368,559.59 euros, within the framework of the 2% Cultural Program.

This project, promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, represents a fundamental step for the conservation and enhancement of the Ducal Palace, one of the most important heritage landmarks in the city of Gandia.
The planned actions focus on four main lines. Among them, the rehabilitation of the Hall of Crowns stands out, covering more than 150 m² and including intervention on the floor, wooden beams, and ceiling to reinforce the existing structure. The staircase of the Patio de Armas will also be restored, which currently shows deterioration in the wood, the support elements of the steps, and the roof, which is currently shored up due to structural problems.
Other interventions include the Duke's former cabinet or Neo-Gothic chapel, where action will be taken on the existing deformation in the central area of the pavement, and the wall between Jesuïtes and Carmelites streets, as well as the terrace facing the facade of the Hall of Crowns, with the aim of enhancing this part of the historic building.

"We are taking a firm step towards the recovery of a fundamental space in our history. The intervention will ensure the conservation of the Ducal Palace and continue to strengthen its cultural and tourist appeal."
