This edition of the prestigious prize, endowed with 3,500 euros and the publication of the winning work, has received 16 original poetry collections. Of these, 10 are from Valencian authors, 5 from Catalan authors, and 1 from the Balearic Islands, reflecting the geographical diversity of the participants.
The cultural evening, with free admission and open to the public, will be inaugurated by the Councilor for Culture, Concha Germán, and closed by the Mayor, Óscar Barres. Journalist and poet Susanna Lliberós will act as the master of ceremonies, and the event will also feature live music by pianist Alba Montagut Serrano, a member of the “Ausiàs March” Musical Group of Beniarjó and a student at the Conservatory of Castellón.
During the ceremony, the jury's verdict will be announced. The jury is composed of Teresa Pascual, Joan Navarro, Ricard Garcia, Josep Lluís Roig, and Consol Martínez Bella. The winner of the 46th Ausiàs March Poetry Prize will have the opportunity to address the audience and sign their work at the end of the event.
As a notable novelty this year, a symbolic sculpture created by artist Llorenç Escrivà will be introduced. It will be awarded for the first time to the winner and will, from now on, represent this important literary recognition.
Complementing the award and within the framework of the Sant Marc festivities, the municipality will host the exhibition “Art entre Balcons” from April 11 to April 28. This initiative will fill the streets of Beniarjó with creativity and color, with an official inauguration scheduled for Sunday, April 19 in the morning, with the presence of several participating painters.
