This action, whose main purpose is to secure the reliability of the Commuter Rail network, will ensure the continuity of the power supply. This investment aims to drastically reduce the breakdowns that affect the frequency and punctuality of trains connecting Gandia with Valencia.
The new facility will feature high-power equipment, including two 3,000 kW traction groups and a new 20 kV underground connection to the Iberdrola substation in the city. In addition to the main Silla-Gandia section, the plant will also provide power to the branch line connecting Gandia Goods Station with Gandia Beach.
“"This investment will provide reliability, increase safety, and significantly reduce the possibility of an incident occurring."
The project is part of the global modernization plan for the line, which already exceeds 170 million euros. At the same time, the local government continues to demand the double-tracking of the line between Cullera and Gandia, a key infrastructure that has already passed the environmental impact assessment and is currently in the drafting phase to improve service competitiveness.
