The Ministry of Transport has informed the Gandia City Council about the tender for a project to improve safety, accessibility, and ventilation at the city's train station, the head of the C-1 commuter line.

The drafting of this project, promoted by Adif, has a budget of 658,179.5 euros and is part of the Commuter Train Plan for the Valencian Community. The action will focus on reinforcing the evacuation conditions of the infrastructure through the study and design of new emergency exits, with the aim of reducing travel distances in case of an incident.
These interventions will adapt to accessibility criteria and will be complemented by the installation of fire protection systems and security measures against intrusions. Additionally, the project will analyze the implementation of a smoke extraction system on the platforms, as well as the sectorization of these spaces to improve response to potential emergencies.
The modernization of fire detection and extinguishing systems throughout the station is also planned. This intervention may be financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which would boost the improvement of a key infrastructure for mobility in Gandia and the Safor region.
